I was just wondering who was still here? How often do you visit the site? Every day, week, month? Do you post images for comments? What do you find yourself responding to the most on here? Critiquing Images? Job Offers? Tech Tips?

Like I said, I was just curious.

Grad school has been kicking my butt. I've been working on the final projects for the past few weeks and am in the middle of Hell Week before final critiques. These past few weeks have really taken a toll but that's what I'm there for. I'm dying to get back out with models, especially since they're predicting 70's here for the weekend, but it's going to have to wait a little longer.

I tried to come back... but there isn't anything here to come back to any more... and well, there is no work here... I spend most of my energies on this part of my market on OMP. I don't have enough time to also do this forum, and OMP, and all the other sites... so I concentrate my work in one area for the net... besides my own websites...

I do try to come by at least one every couple weeks...

I haven't been here in AGES! I didn't even remember my own ID and PW.
I just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing lately. Specially a few of my old allies: Mark, Max, etc.. I guess you could say I've been working hard on my figure lately *laugh* I'd say I have about, ohhh.... 8 to 10 more weeks before my masterpiece is complete. Hopefully I'll see some of you on before then. *hugs for all*

Well, another semester is finally over. Actually, it's been over since the 16th but I've been in recovery since the final critiques. I've got a dozen things I 'm working on, some photography-based, others not. Now that I've caught my breath for a moment, I'd like to post a few notes/comments.

The reason I originally posted the question about who was still here and how often you visited the site is obvious. There was a vibrant community that thrived here during the first iteration. There were postings, feedbacks, get togethers, workshops, etc. Then the site was removed. Last year it was revived and there was, at least in the beginning, a real interest in it. Now the place is relatively dead. I made the original post a month ago and so far only 8 replies, two of them mine. 6 out of 310 registered members equals less then 2 percent.

Is the local web scene itself drying up some? I can't help but notice that some participants aren't updating their sites as often or are downsizing their participation on other sites as well. I myself have been contimplating downsizing my OMP page and others as 1. money is getting tight and 2. The ratio of legit work verses no shows/other disasters has been tipping more and more towrds the bad side.

Is this place worth saving? Can it be a viable entity again? Should the effort be made or should it just be let go into internet history as something that was great once but its time has passed? If it is to be saved then it will have to be by group consensus and effort.

Aaron, Keith, Mr Helper...I especially would like to hear from you as Max has stated his opinion. Any input from the veterans of the first time around that are still out there (Alison, Tree, Marisa, photogs) would be appreciated as well.

Nicole - The best works takes time so I know yours will be outstanding. :-) Always ready to work with you and yours again. :-)

Marisa - Always ready to do another shoot whenever you want to. I have an urge to get you near the water again. ;-)

For those that were keeping track...I earned a 3.56 for the semester mostly based upon work generated by my return to the old family land after being away for 21 years. 80 final images (out of 600+) posted on the wall plus essays, maps, interviews, images from the family archives, and found objects. I'm going to continue the work over the summer with the hopes of putting it in book form. When I get a free week I'll post as much as I can on the site.
