After months of pestering one of my employees finally caved and agreed to try a stab at modelling. I told her next time wear anything but white. These are from this past Monday evening.....any thoughts??

I have looked at these images a couple of times... trying to decide if I should say what I am thinking... So I am going to say it, but take it as only my opinion and not gospel...

The first thing that strikes me is the contrast. It seems very sharp and too hard for a female model. Or at least in these poses and location. Using flash the way you did may have also added to the harnish I am seeing. The other thing that hits me with the first two images is that they seem like poses I would do with a male subject rather than a female subject. The white I don't mind, because I like white clothing I normally find it appealing to the feminine form. The last image is great, I like the way you used DOF and focal length to blow away the background at the same time keeping all concentration on the subject.

I do agree that this subject is well worth photographing, but you need to ask her again! Which is a good thing!

If the photos were scanned, I think the originals might be excellent images (especially the 2nd one), they look great if you look beyond the minor dust specs (in the same spots on each) and slight graininess (or hardness in contrast).

If they were degraded by the scanner, that might address some of the issues Max mentioned... Replacing the scanner would be a better option than photoshopping out dust every time you scan an image.

(in the end I'm saying I like the images, just wish I could see the original quality)

Thanks,
Aaron

If I tried to get one of my employees to model, the harrassment suit would hit my mailbox faster than the developed film.....
