Bought the Nikon D-70 with the SB-800 Speedlight this past Wednesday. Lots to learn and lots to get used to after using the Coolpix5000 for 2 and a half years but at least I know the basics going in. Here's some examples from last night with Bonita. We talked about her joining this site as well as others as a model. She's going to give it serious thought but her schedual is tight this year with her internship.

And he's brave enought to STILL go near the water. :D

I like the second one. Tons of potential for PS/Painter effects or standing on its own.
I have no lid upon my head, but if I did you could look inside and see what's on my mind.

Gotta get back on the horse, hair of the dog that bit you, blah, blah, blah.

Brave yet paranoid and hypersensitive to every little ripple caused by any boat withen 2 miles, rogue waves or even geese landing nearby. Must have looked like I was 95 shuffling on those rocks and double checking before stepping anywhere. Season's winding down so I'm sqeezing every last shoot outdoors out that I can before I'm locked in a studio enviroment for another 8 months. Anyone that wants to do a shoot outdoors while we still can as I learn this camera, drop me a line.

Mark,
I was following your post regarding your misfortune with your camera and I am glad to hear you have been able to get another one. I have shot several times with digital eq. in running water situations where I too cringe at the thought of getting the camera wet. But I guess the images that I come back with are worth it. Such as the ones you posted here. I realy like the second one of B and I think her pose realy shows off what looks like a very intersting tattoo around her belly button. I would be interested in shooting with her if she need some TFP.
One other thing about learning to use the new camera. You know the camera is only a tool. It is what you see and know, your exsperiences, that make the shot.
