I'm just trying to get an idea of which version of Photoshop, or what application you are using for your digital images. If you're using an app not listed, tell us what and why.

Oh, and if you view results without voting, you won't be able to vote later. It'll be a null vote.

Thanks.

P.S. I'm also trying out the poll feature :p

Come north my friend... or have us down for beers, a BBQ, beers, laughs, beers, etc... and I'll show ya some nifty stuff.

I really like the Actions feature, saves a lot of time.

I just borrowed a PS-7 book from the public library, and discovered the Polyagonal Lasso Tool and the Magnetic Lasso Tool. Wish I had known about these eons ago...(been using PS since v2.0)... they make selecting an area sooo much easier than freehand (ick!) or ALT-clicking with the Lasso tool.

Cheers,
Brian

Just as I was barely scratching the surface of PS 7, I upgraded to CS. Now class starts all over again, lol. A great book is Scott Kelby's Photoshop for the Digital Photographer. It's very easy to follow with plenty of screenshots for the learning disabled like me. :p

CS has some great new tools, including Shadow/Highlight recover, Match Color, and Photo Filter to name a few.

Alli,
You should join NAPP. They have a student rate too. TONS of info there. If you do, use me as a referral so I can get some free stuff. :D

Sure, let the craziness settle down for June. This weekend I'm shooting the ACS Relay for Life teams, then it gets better towards the end of the month.

I've been using PS 7 for a little over a year now. Still learning how to use it mostly by trial and error, LOL. One tip I would give is to save your images to a CDR disc and then do your editing. This way you won't lose any of the original image info. I've been thinking about upgrading to CS also. Keith do you have any tips or suggestions on the new version?

Yes, buy more RAM. It seems to be a memory pig, especially the File Browser.

Also, if you are on a PC, get ready to go through an activation process with Adobe. I'm not sure how it works, but you can't use it until you contact Adobe (phone or web) to get an activation key unique to that machine - anti-piracy stuff. So, that makes it a P.I.T.A. for the honest who pay for their software. So if you reformat your drive and/or reinstall it on a new computer, you have to contact Adobe. For some reason, the Mac version doesn't have to go through the activation process, but more than likely will the next version unless they scrap the activation process altogether.

Keith,
I just got the upgrade (to CS) last week. After reading the reviews I just couldn't resist. The only complaint I have with Photoshop is the unsharp mask, if I need to I use the Nikon version which works much better. The activation process was no hassel. Just connect with Adobe after instalation and it's taken care of.

Can I hook you up with Photoshop TV? http://www.photoshoptv.com/

They have some pretty good tutorials. About a half hour show you can view on your computer and download previous shows to watch. You'll need itunes to watch them.
