Shot with Samantha down at the beaches the other day! Here are a few images... What do you think? In the next few weeks I'll be shooting a bit - yay! Finally getting the show on the road....

Larisa,

Glad you are posting these for others to see...you already have my thoughts (Larisa and I were e-mailing about other photo stuff and she offered me a sneak preview). Bottom line, I like them and the fact that you are developing a creative style that's uniquely 'Larisa, is easily identifiable and very singular. Cool!

Since you asked... :D

This isn't your best work. I look at your work on your website and you have a great eye. Here, you mainly just have technical problems. The first one has potential with some pose tweaking and better light. Shooting in the direct sun is a tough assignment and your fill flash is flattening the images. You can diffuse the sun with a transluscent panel. Enlist a friend to assist you by holding it.You can buy the fold out type or make one with some rip stop nylon and pvc or the flexible rods from an old camping tent. Getting the flash off camera will help too, not only to add dimension but by balancing the ambient light and the flash just so you can darken the backround. You can also use the direct sun as a hairlight and use a reflector as a main light. Get your hands on one or two of his Dean Collins videos. One deals with shooting in the sun. I think it's called Commercial Portraiture and Model Portfolios or something close to that.

I'm sorry if this is harsh. You can take it or tell me to go blank myself. :) Just trying to help. If you wanna make it out this way someday and shoot for a day, bring a model and your camera and we can go over a few things. Maybe you can teach me a couple things too.

I have no lid upon my head, but if I did you could look inside and see what's on my mind.

*crawls into corner and cries*

heh I'm kidding. I want harsh criticism.... just keep the profanity at a min ;) OK, I'll look into that. I'm not extremly happy with the pics ... probably had something to do with the model showing up an hour and a half late? But it gave me the chance to try out something new.... this lighting bit is giving me a tough time. I like how her (and possibly mine too) childish sides came out in the pic though :D
